The maestro portrait painter " Jamini Roy's " 130th birth anniversary google celebrates.............

Jamini Roy started his career as a portrait painter in 1920s.


Roy changed style from his scholarly Western preparing, and included another style in view of Bengali people customs.

       In 1946, his work was shown in London and in 1953, in the New York City.

       He was granted the " Padma Bhusan " in 1954.

He spent the majority of his life living and working in Calcutta. 

At first he explored different avenues regarding Kalighat works of art yet observed that it has stopped to be entirely a "patua" and went to gain from town patuas. Thus, his systems and topic was affected by customary specialty of Bengal. 

He favored himself to be known as a patua. 

Jamini Roy kicked the bucket in 1972. 

He was made due by four children and a little girl. 

Presently his successors (girls in-law and fabulous youngsters and their kids) remain at the home he had worked in Ballygunge Place, Kolkata.
